History

The band Delusion Of Mankind (or: D-O-M for short) was formed in June 2011 from a nameless band project. Founded by Alain Vetter (Drums), Francisco Enguita (Bass) and Sascha Fels (Guitar), who had already played together in Cryonix in the 1990s. Katja Fels (at that time still Lützel - Vocals) and Andreas Beutler (Guitar) completed the line-up. Due to the wide range of influences, from Alternative to Old-School-Thrash, they quickly found a mix that can best be described as Melodic-Power-Thrash.

In December 2011, they started recording a demo. This was mainly intended for practice purposes, but was nevertheless released in December 2012 as "Face Your Delusions".

With that, they set out to find concerts. But unfortunately, in 2014 and 2015, there were some personnel changes at D-O-M, which hindered the possibilities to perform. First, Fabian Meier joined the band because Andreas Beutler left the band and Alain Vetter quitted D-O-M as well. So the band was looking for a new drummer. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a somewhat difficult undertaking. Nevertheless, they wanted to record and release the existing songs.

In March 2017, the recording of a new album began, for which they had to resort to programmed drums. The album was called "Stay In Silence" and it was released in September 2018. The layout was designed by Nuno Sarnadas and besides his skills as a graphic designer, he was also great with the sticks. So D‑O‑M finally found a new drummer. Nuno officially joined the band in October 2018.

Consequently, they were able to consolidate the set and looked around for suitable concert opportunities. Just as several gig options were in the pipeline, the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world. The band's life came almost to a standstill and they tried to make the best of the situation. Some new songs were written, which show the further development of the band but still sound like D-O-M.

Two of them could be played in the appearance on November 20th, 2022 at the Eye See You-Festival in Boswil. The reactions were positive throughout and the band decided to plan for 2023 some recordings and releases.
